RSE

How is RSE and Relationship Education taught at Madni Academy ?

At Madni Academy we believe that the teaching of RSE and Relationship Education is vital in order to help our students to embrace the challenges of creating a happy and successful adult life. We believe that all our pupils need to have the knowledge that will enable them to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships.

Pupils can also put this knowledge into practice as they develop the capacity to make sound decisions when facing risks, challenges and complex situations. The topics covered in the RSE and Re Curriculum can help support young people to develop resilience, to know how and when to ask for help, and to know where to access support.

We strongly believe that high quality, evidence-based and age-appropriate teaching of RSE and RE can help prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life. They can also enable us to promote the spiritual, moral, social, cultural, mental and physical development of our pupils.

At Madni Academy we have chosen to implement a curriculum specially designed by, The Association of Muslim Schools (AMS), a curriculum which is:

Faith based with a clear Islamic narrative

Has been checked thoroughly by renowned scholars

In line with statutory guidance

Designed to be taught in a manner that parents agree with and feel confident that the content is being delivered in a sensitive manner

Please see the RSE policy and long term plan for further details.
