Safeguarding Statement

The Department of Education, through Working Together to Safeguard Children (DfE 2018) and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023), places a duty on organisations to safeguard and promote the well-being of children and young people. At Madni Academy we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our students and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment; these can be viewed below as well as in the policies section of our website.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such action would be contrary to the child's welfare.

We support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

The school works with Operation Encompass, please click the link below to access further information.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Shakera Mirza (Headteacher) and our Deputy DSLs are Mrs Nazia Ali ( Office Manager) and Mrs Memoona Khan (Assistant Headteacher)
