World Down Syndrome Day
On Wednesday 21st March, children at Madni Academy supported World Down Syndrome Day. Pupils and staff came to school in odd, colourful and patterned socks in support of the global awareness day. The year 8 students organised a bake sale selling treats such as cakes, chocolate fountain, samosas and sweets. During assembly, children learned about Down Syndrome.
MashaA….h as a school we raised £337.97, which will be donated to ‘Sunshine & Smiles’ – an organisation in Leeds who help & support the needs of children and young people with Down Syndrome.
