Early Years Space Adventure

What a term it has been! We have been learning about  Space and the planets. Reception children have done an immense amount of work in learning about the planets and siz-es. Our topic book was 'Whatever Next' by Jill Murphy, which is a great favourite of the children. It was such a delight for the children to learn about Space as it was a very fascinating concept for them. After reading Whatever Next, we had our very own picnic like the story. It was amazing to see all children come in with their colanders as helmets and wellington boots as space shoes. The children had a surprise visitor come in and join them in their space rocket- The Headteacher! It was a wonderful experience for everyone!

This term we have successfully organised 2 workshops surrounding the theme in the Early Years and Alhamdulilah what a great turn we have had! We thank all parents and carers for attending and sup- porting us through- out. The first work- shop was based around the chicks.

The second workshop was based on the ongoing topic of sea life and everything under the sea. Once again we welcomed mums and dads in to the setting to spend the morning with their child and take part in under the sea activities and embrace the child's setting. It was great to see parents/carers enjoying their time with their children.

All your feedback is welcome and we try our best to ensure everyone  is comfortable. We hope in the future to organise more workshops and events involving decorating and crafts.
