Madni Academy Celebrates Ofsted Success

Staff and students at Madni Academy in Dewsbury are celebrating another Good rating from Ofsted, following a two and a half day inspection in February 2019.  The inspectors praised the exceptional behaviour of the students and recognised the work that has been done to improve the quality of teaching and the curriculum taught in the school.

Madni Secondary- GOOD  Madni Primary – GOOD   Madni Early Years- GOOD

In the inspection report, Ofsted said that ‘pupils are making good progress from their different starting points because of effective teaching and that they ‘show very positive attitudes towards their learning, have great pride in their work and are eager to learn and make progress.’ The inspectors were impressed with the teaching they saw in the classrooms, as well as the work in pupils’ books and highlighted that, ‘teachers set high expectations and ‘demonstrate good subject knowledge and ‘Leaders have high aspirations for all pupils.’

The inspectors identified significant strengths at the school, and were particularly impressed by pupils’ progress adding, ‘They have created a culture of high expectations (as a result) ‘attainment of pupils at Key Stage 2 and GCSE is higher than national averages.’

The inspectors were particularly complimentary on the excellent behaviour of the students, and commented on students’ positive attitudes towards their learning and to others around them: ‘Pupils are very proud of their school…’pupils behave exceptionally well in lessons and around the school…’they are tolerant and have respect for cultures other than their own.’

Madni Academy’s continued success reflects the dedication and partnership between governors, staff, pupils, parents and the local community.  The Ofsted team recognised that the ‘head teacher has a clear vision for the school; this is shared by staff and governors,’ they continue, ‘Staff, leaders and governors have high aspirations for pupils’ academic success.’

Mrs Shakera Mirza, Headteacher of the School, comments: “I am delighted with the outcome. This is an amazing achievement for us given the stringent inspection regimes and the obvious restrictions we have as a non-government funded Independent faith school. The outcome reflects the hard work of the whole school community and the high expectations we have for all our students, so it is pleasing to see these qualities recognised in the inspection report. Of course, we recognise there is still work to be done, and are determined to improve outcomes for all our students on our journey towards excellence.

“I would like to personally thank my dedicated staff, our students, parents and the governing body as well as well wishers of Madni Academy for their unwavering support and duas.” May the Almighty accept everyones efforts. Aameen.
